What's new
Every release of Say In Bulbs, newest first, as published in the App Store's What's New notes (the 1.0 notes used the app's former name). Updates are free, and if you bought Pro it stays unlocked in every update, tied to your store account.
Version 1.1
We have a new name: Say In Bulbs, SIB for short. Same app, same signs, and if you bought Pro it stays unlocked.
- Ready-made drawings for Halloween: a pumpkin and a skull, one tap away.
- A stray touch no longer closes the full-screen sign: it shows an exit button instead. You can turn this off in Settings.
- The full-screen sign now turns smoothly with your phone. Going from upright to sideways no longer makes it jump.
- Easier to read everywhere, with better support for larger text sizes and VoiceOver.
- Deleting a saved sign or a quick pick now asks first.
- Clearer icons and a cleaner Settings screen.
Version 1.0
First release. Turn your phone into a scrolling dot-matrix LED sign. Type a message or draw one bulb by bulb with a finger, then hold it up over your head.
- The sign is free and unlimited: amber on black, dot matrix, at any speed you choose, for as long as you like, never interrupted and never nagged. Saving one sign is free too.
- Pro is a single purchase, not a subscription. It adds six LED colours, four sign backgrounds, solid glow, adjustable text size, static and bouncing signs, flash, pulse and colour-cycle effects, and unlimited saved signs.
- Nothing you type or draw leaves the device. No account, no server, no analytics, and no backend of its own - the only network the app touches is the App Store, for your Pro purchase and restore.
Flash, pulse and colour cycle can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. In every version and in both tiers, the app keeps them below 3 changes a second, and Reduce flashing in Settings keeps them off for good. Since 1.1 it also asks before the first one turns on.
